Realistic Expectations
We do not quote patients success rates, rates of improvement, or duration of improvement that we do not see first-hand or have seen published in the most recent medical literature. Be cautious of stem cell centers quoting success rates with 90% or higher – it’s just not possible.
Anesthesia
Many stem cell centers administer general anesthesia, IV sedation or conscious sedation during a stem cell harvest. However, it is important to avoid centers that utilize these types of sedation at any point during the patient procedure. Individuals over the age of 60 and individuals with neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease, may experience long-term cognitive decline or complications/worsening of present symptoms as a result of receiving general anesthesia.3 TruStem Cell Therapy provides access to treatment strictly through the use of localized anesthetic to ensure patient safety.
Stem Cells vs. Exosomes
Exosomes are powerful nano-sized vesicles containing biological signaling molecules that mediate cell–cell signaling. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are believed to have greater benefits such as antitumor properties and the ability to re-modulate the immune system, among many other benefits. When considering exosome therapy it’s important to know that stem cells, naturally, contain exosomes however stem cells are the means by which exosomes target the cells that are damaged or in need of repair. Without stem cells, exosomes will not target the proper area of damage and may be useless. Think of exosomes as the payload and stem cells as the missile that delivers the payload. AAAHC Accredited Surgical Center
Harvesting your stem cells should always performed in an accredited surgical center / operating room. This allows for the safest, most sterile conditions possible which minimizes your chances of infection during your stem cell treatment. TruStem Cell Therapy always utilizes AAAHC accredited surgical center for your harvesting as opposed to an exam or “procedure room” where the risk of infection can increase significantly.
Autologous Stem Cell Therapy
Be cautious of any stem cell clinic or company claiming to use placental, umbilical, fetal or amniotic stem cells as part of their procedure or treatment. Multiple research studies demonstrated that these available stem cell products did not contain any living, viable cells. Further, these products did not contain higher levels of growth factors than standard human blood platelets. These amniotic products were found to increase oxidative stress when combined with other populations of stem cells, potentially damaging the healthy cells. Dr. Rachel has more than 15 years of combined surgical experience. He is Triple Board Certified in Head and Neck Surgery, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Rachel graduated from Michigan State University and then went on to graduate with honors from Wayne State University School of Medicine before completing his residency at Detroit Medical Center Hospitals and Beeson Cosmetic Surgery Institute.
He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including The Distinction in Biomedical Research Award, The National Institutes of Health Research Recipient Award and The John Orlando Roe Award for excellence in research.
Jeremiah is a 2004 graduate of Berea College. In 2009, he earned a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Cincinnati with a focus in neuroimmunology. Through the end of 2012 he continued his education at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the department of Pathology and Immunology.
During his academic science career, Jeremiah worked in a broad range of therapeutic areas that targeted multiple human diseases. He has publications related to several disease conditions including multiple sclerosis, encephalitis, stroke, and inflammatory bowel disease.
What steps are involved in receiving treatment through TruStem Cell Therapy™?
Step 1: Harvesting Your Bone Marrow
First a blood draw is performed followed by a minimally invasive bone marrow harvest via the iliac crest. Approximately 100cc’s of a patient’s own bone marrow is harvested through a minimally invasive, bone marrow aspiration procedure. TruStem Cell Therapy utilizes a powered bone marrow access system combined with local anesthetic allowing for consistently larger specimen of cells, extremely low levels of pain/invasiveness reported by most patients, and higher levels of sterility.
Bone marrow aspirate is preferentially utilized because it is one of the richest, most accessible sources of stem cells in the human body and falls within the FDA guidelines of minimal manipulation.
Step 2: Activating Your Stem Cells
TruStem Cell Therapy uses a 3-step protocol to activate the harvested stem cells which consists of minimal manipulation.
Both the blood and bone marrow are immediately delivered to our dedicated, onsite laboratory staffed by our team of technicians. Once your sample is in the lab our advanced proprietary process isolates and excites regenerative cells and concentrates healing factors to hyper-physiological levels in order to facilitate the creation of a highly effective, injectable therapeutic.
When also treating a chronic wound a soft biomatrix is created and loaded with healing factors and regenerative cells in addition to the process above.
Step 3: Readministering Your Stem Cells
Stem Cell Clinical Studies are evaluating multiple ways to administer BMSCs, including:
Intravenously – BMSCs are delivered via a vein for distribution throughout the body 6, 7
Intranasally – BMSCs are delivered via the highly vascular pathway of the nose. This delivery pathway improves the likelihood that the re-administered stem cells are able to cross the blood-brain barrier, which normally prevents substances from entering the brain via the bloodstream. Note, too, that intranasal infusion is a non-invasive and safe delivery system, and has been shown to be effective in the delivery of a number of drugs, including steroids and insulin 8, 9.
Direct site injections – BMSCs are delivered to sites that need repair, such as muscles or tendons.

Bone marrow (BM) and bone marrow components function in various diverse, innate therapeutic capacities.
Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), found within BM, are the body’s source of most cells found in the peripheral or circulating blood. These include red blood cells and white blood cells (such as monocytes). Evidence suggests that BM-derived monocytes may act to improve certain pulmonary conditions.
In addition to HSCs, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are also contained within BM. Evidence suggests MSCs can enter the circulating blood during injury 1, and have been shown to readily home to areas of injury or inflammation. Once at these damaged tissue sites, MSCs can exert both protective cellular and immunomodulatory effects 2,3 believed to be critical in many conditions 4,5.

How to become a Patient – Next Steps:
Step 1 - Submit Online Medical History Form
In order to determine if you’re eligible for stem cell therapy complete the online Medical History Form from the link below. Once submitted, your Patient Advocate will call you to confirm we have received your form. It typically takes about 24-48 hours to determine your eligibility for stem cell therapy. Once a decision is made your Patient Advocate will contact you and help answer any further questions.
Step 2 - Schedule Your Appointment:
If your Medical History Form is approved and you’re interested in coming for stem cell therapy, your Patient Advocate will schedule your 3-day visit. Once your appointment is scheduled you will be contacted by your new Care Coordinator who will arrange your visit.
Step 3 - Travel Form
Once your appointment is scheduled, please fill out the Online Travel Form from the link below. This will allow us to plan for your visit and make sure all accommodations, ground transportation and other arrangements are handled well in advance.
Step 4 – Medical Clearance Form
Once your appointment is scheduled, you will need clearance from your physician, typically your GP. Your physician can access the online Medical Clearance Form below and grant clearance for you directly from it.
Your Care Coordinator will handle trip details including scheduling ground transportation to and from the airport along with hotel accommodations for you and your loved ones. We’ll then mail you out a personalized packet of information and our nurse will call you to discuss your medical history also helping to discuss any further questions you may have prior to your visit. We arrange for all patients to be picked up from the airport and driven to the hotel.
